Default wiring question

I have a quick question on general wiring for things such as interior lights (like neons) and/or exterior lights (such as neons as well).

I think I may have the general idea, but I am not sure. I bought switches that have 3 prongs, and on the side of the switch, there is a sticker that says what each prong is for. One for power, one going to the lights or whatever, and one to ground. So, my question is, do I run a wire from the fuse box to the switch, then run the ground from the switch to a nearby screw or something, then just run a wire from the switch to the light and run a ground wire for the light as well? If I have to run a wire from the fuse box, what is the best way at connecting the wire to it and what one should I run it to if I was to put interior or exterior neons on my vehicle?

Default RE: wiring question

i would leave the ground wire from the switch out of the equation all together. unless the switch works by taking the ground away and constantly giving power. i would check that out first. take a test light, if you dont have one, use the loght you ate hooking up and just wire it to the battery and see what combinations of wires is good
