Default high idling

My Neon run usually at 1100 rpms. When i drive it and then put it in park it goes to 2000 rpms and stays there. In the morning when i start it up to let it warm up it starts at 1100 then goes to 2000. Does anyone know what could be going on and how much it would cost to fix it? Thanks for the help.

That was my thought also. I just wondered if it could be anything else. Thanks

Sounds like a HUGE vaccum leak. Do you have a CAI? Catch can? Tell us more about your setup. Are you completely stock?

Start by looking by the throttle body, the bellows tube (Connects the TB to the intake manifold) might have a rip or hole. Make sure all the couplers are tight and catch cans are screwed.

It is completely stock. I was worried it could be something worse than a vacuum leak. I am not mechanically inclined at all so i am just trying to get ideas.

Dont' worry, neither am I. Just check the ribbed accordian looking piece of plastic that connects your throttle body by that bigass airbox to your intake manifold. Then check the sensor on the TB. Make sure both have a gasket...especially the one on the top, deffinetely needs a gasket. Getting some RTV really helps it out.

I say this because i had a vac leak, and still do. I'm a little too lazy to fit it right now, I might tonight.
