do you have a different shift ****.. cuz if you do that spring and pin is what holds the stock shift **** in place.. so if you have a aftermarket **** on there you can take it off but be careful that spring will shoot up without the pin.. it a b**ch to take out to

If your grinding second why don't you take out your center concole and adjust the linkage? I got locked out of reverse and had to adjust everything so that way mine would go into the gears. I don't believe it has anything to do with the **** check the linkage and go threw the gears and see if it is hitting something then adjust to compensate.

yeah, the spring is for the stock shift ****. you have to push the stock **** down and turn it and then let go. The spring gives resistance so it doesn't just fall down and come loose.

oh, and +1 to it not being your shifting problem.

i know it is my shifting problem b/c i put the SRT4 shift boot in.... which is MUCH LOWER on the shifter so much so that the spring interferes with it.... i can hear the boot making the spring move and i can feel the resistance... and now that i know i dont need it ths spring is totally comming out ASAP! lol
