Airbags don't go off if you disconnect the battery, right?

I'm thinking just disconnecting the battery should disable the batter but I'm not sure, but what do mean by just be careful??? Should I wear a helmet or something, cuz looking at that emblem seems like its gonna be tough to wedge something in there.

I actully just got a black and silver m steering wheel badge over at showparts .net and I printed off the instructions on how to install and they said to use your fingernail or small screwdriver and pull it away from the steering wheel. be careful not to scratch the outside of your steering wheel. There are 4 bendable tabs that hold your stock badge to the steering wheel. They said you can unhood the battery if you dont want the horn to honk like it could. Soon as I get mine Ill post pics of it installed. Got mine for 15bucks with freeshipping.
