Default Questions on 18 Inch wheels and tires on a 2000 Neon

My friend has a 2000 Dodge neon. It is just stock and a regular neon. He wants to buy some 18" wheels from me that i think are 7 inch wide. Does anyone know what size tires will work on this? His factory tire size is 185 65 r14 and he hopes to keep the speedometer correct. The overall diameter of the original tires is 23.5". Does anyone have any suggestions??? thanks

So, will this size(225 35 r18)tire clear the strut tower and everything else fine? Also, does that depend on the rim width? I know they aren't over 8 inches wide, but i haven't measured them. thanks,

I would say depends on the rim 'off-set' (it's a stat listed where ever I see rims for sale, even on e-bay)....you might have to look yours up, if you don't know it.

stock off-set is 40mm... ideal range would be from 38mm to 42mmm...but I had someone tell me a 35mm would still fit, but might look funny...like maybe the wheels stickking way out of the fenderwalls
