The 6 bolt motors do not walk. They are found in the 1st gen DSMs. I'd say about 80% of 2nd gen dsm guys swap in a 6 bolt. I have alot of friends that own DSMs and have worked on plenty!! One of the cleanest i've seen is my buddy Zach's who is also a moderator on my forum. He took a GST vert and swapped in the gsx awd drivetrain. Here are some pics...

cool, just an FYI... DSMs are known for breaking down quite often. If modded right they can be a pretty mean car. 7 bolt motors are found in the 2nd gens like yours. The 7 bolt motor is prone to what's called "crank walk". A google search can explain alot more about it. Basically is a factory defect in the design of the crank bearings. The 7 bolts usually walk around 60,000 - 100,000 miles. can be alot sooner, but not usually later.

just to make you mind wonder a bit more... The 4g64 can be found in a Hyundai Sonata. The 4g63 head bolts right on. We swapped on in my buddy's GSX... along with a 60-1 turbo that damn thing spun all four tires well into third gear.
