well guys...the car is still jerking...any ideas??
i changed the tranny fluid and filter...and its still jerkingm going from second to first...and most of the time its done when you go into overdrive 50+mph...my pop seems to think its the overdrive unit...and he believes thats where my transmission leak was coming from...?
any ideas on what this involves if i have to change the overdrive unit...what all kinda crap i need and how much does it cost??
also im up for any other ideas
appriciate the help i got in my last post!! hopefully someone can shed light on this...also FYI...the transmission shifts fine...no loss of gears...and no slippage...

well the car doesn't seem to be leaking anymore...
however I found a way to bypass th jerk....if when slowing down...around 30-35 put the shifter in third and let it slow to a stop that way...not sure if its good for the tranny...it doesn't feel like it normally would but a hell of a lot better then it does when I leave it in drive...
pop and I aren't sure if the car has a torque converter or not....he said that if it did...he didn't know if it was an aftermarket unit...or all one piece...
its a 2002 neon es auto...105k miles...and it only does the jerk around 25 mph when shifting from 2nd to first...

all cars that are an auto have a torque converter... well all newer cars... so yea yours does... i dont remember where they are off hand but i would say that it is either that or the syncro between 1st and 2nd thats messed up.... so yea.... and if there is 105k miles on the trans i'd say that could be the problem right there... thats a lot of miles :-P
I have a little jerk at around 2K rpm, if it was a carb car I'd swear it was between jets but since it's F.I. I really don't know what's going on. I've installed MM and transaxle inserts which helped a little bit but still, I just have to accelerate out of the 2K rpm range and it clears right up, generally I'll try and run aroun 2.5K rpm and there it's as smooth as can be.
