Hello fellow Neon owners. I was wondering how many people on this site have an SXT with the complete SRT4 Sports package. I purchased my car brand new in 2005 not knowing I was going to be unable to find body parts for it. I am beginning to wonder if my car was not an experiment by Dodge on the body for the SRT4. My car has been in the shop for 66 days....The Dodge dealer has ordered the wrong bumper twice and now they say they can't find a bumper for it. When I contacted Chrysler they said I had a rare car. The body shop says my car has been a nightmare. Does anyone else have this car?

 

Swimmer is the only one I know of with a red srt design like you have . Yeah they are pretty rare not very many around. Contact swimmer he might be able to help you more.

 

uhh...u mean the srtd package? just a hood and front bumper that kinda look like the srt-4's??? its the same car as any other sxt, only difference is the front bumper and hood, has the same exhaust as the r/t

The base model Neon (ES/SE)is a 2.0l engine with power output at 132 HP(98 kW).

TheSXT model offered powered door locks, front powered windows and side mirrors, rounded spoiler(smaller version of the srt wing), blackbezel white faces cluster, 15"wheels, cruise control, optional foglamps and sunroof,and colormatched door handles, door guards,hvac/radio cover, and shifter cover for automatics.

The R/T model consisted on a new 150HP (112 kW) SOHC Magnum 2.0l MTX Engine, 16" wheels, spoiler, side skirts,2.25" dual chrome exhaust tips with bumper cutouts, quicker steering box, stiffer springs, Four-wheel disc brakes with ABS, Leather steering wheel/shift ****/shift boot and optional leather seats. pcm programing and clusterwere different too

For 2005 the R/T was discontinued and a SRTDesign package was offered for the SXT, this included
Different front bumper and Hood, along with the SRT wing and the 2.25" dual exhaust that was used on the R/T with bumper cutouts and door guards deleted

 

Your ride is just called a SRT DESIGN thats it . Has the srt kind of hood and front bumper and r/t exhaust and srt spoiler .

 

yeah, i dont see very many of them around. there is an orange blast one that drives around here. but i havent seen it in a while
i know that the 'nostrils', which the srtd bumper does not have, were added to the srt4 at the last minute due to cooling issues with the car. i always had a gut feeling and wondered if the srtd neons were just using up some 'extra parts' that dodge had lying about from the origional manufacturing of the srt4. if they cut out the nostrils at the last minute, perhaps they already had some bumper covers in production without them. so why not use them up infront of the 2.0, which dosent require as much air getting to it. but just a thought.

wait, did they actually make regulars neons look like SRT-4s right out of the factory?

I remember seeing a neon. It had the hood, front bumber, side skirts, rear bumper, spoiler, exhaust, and I think rims. But when I walked up to the parked car I noticed the exhaust was fake...it was chrome and big on the outside but on the inside you could see the smaller but real pipe. I also looked inside the car and noticed it was ATX...and from what I know I'm pretty sure no one can get the true SRT-4 on an ATX. I initially thought...wow, what a disapointment...why would they do that!?!?

Is there a chance they bought their car like that from the shop?
