i am looking at a 2000 and i still have the motor trans and everything from my 02 decided i liked it too much to part with and the 00 is atx but if i drop the 02 motor and trans(mtx) and everything at once it will work just fine right? any other parts i need besides the obvious that i didn't mention like clutch and everything because the 02's still intact just alot of body damage...also do i need the mtx axle(s)?

I'm pretty sure you need the MTX axles... I don't see why your questioned was asked though. You have a complete car you plan to swap over.Its as easy as trying the ATX and if they don't work then use your MTX ones.
