Which one is better? I know there is more aftermarket parts for a SOHC motor than there is for DOHC. Which one would make more power?

trying to decide between getting an r/t neon or an sxt, like the looks of the r/t's and their options but like the sxt because all modifications you can do for it cheaper then a DOHC

. As to which is better (2.0 SOHC vs. 2.4 DOHC), well, thats personal opinion really. Because on a DOHC you have the obvious benefit of dual camshafts, but a DOHC cylinder head cant flow as much as a SOHC cylinder head...if you spent the same money on head work for a SOHC and DOHC, the SOHC would throw back better numbers. However, with the DOHC you have the ability to have larger camshafts because the design of the 2.0 cylinder head, so its a give and take for both setups. As far as the 2.0 DOHC from the 1st Gens, well, the old 2.0 DOHC makes the same power as its 2.0 SOHC "Magnum High Output" brother who has half as many cams, so you can decide which one is "better"...
