Default No power at all in my 2000 Neon

I got off work at 5:30am. Car started. Later in the day at 1pm. Went to the store and left the store. Car started. At 8:30pm. Went to my car. Opened the driver side door. Dome light goes on. Reach over. Put the key in the ignition while the door is still open. Turn the key. The dome light goes out. Nothing on the dash board lights up. I turn off the car. Take the key out. Dome light is still out. Place the key in the ignition. Turn the key. Nothing at all. Total silence from the front of the car to the back. I take the key out of the ignition. Then I hear four soft clicks coming from under the hood by the battery. I try to turn on my lights. No Lights. My question is. Is the battery complety dead or could it be something else? Everything in the car and under the hood and under the car is working perfectly. The battery in the car right now is from Wal-Mart and I think is three to four years old. Please help.....

currently have same problem, try giving the battery terminals a little wiggle and add some water to the battery.

take your battery cables off and clean the terminals and the cable ends with a wire brush.

When you first try to start your car and put the key on the "on" position you hear a poping noise or is more of a tapping?

Time to check battery cables and battery. Some seem to go just that quick. If a terminal developed a crack internally and just finished letting go you end up with a sudden failure.
