Default transmission?

yesterday i pulled up in my driveway, fairly steep hill. put it in first and pulled the ebrake. i went out later took the ebrake off and put it in reverse, and let my foot off thebrake, but the car didnt move, i took it out of gear and back in and it still didnt move, once i reved it a little it kinda, "clicked", and started rolling. is this my transmission going bad?

That sounds like an ebrake cable or something was sticking, you probally pulled up harder than normal on the ebrake cause of the hill and it caught on some rust.

I also believe it was the emergency brake. I had a similar incident when I parked in my garage. Of course it wasn't on a hill but, I also have a 5 speed and I unlocked my handbrake and gave it a little clutch and the car didn't move. I gave the car a little gas and it still didn't move. After I gave hit the accelerator, I noticed the back wheel was not moving (it was skidding). A few seconds later the wheel unlocked and it was ok. I don't think it is that serious. This only happened once.[&:]
