looks like im going to be looking at some rims...just a few minutes ago I'm driving in this storm and my car is doing fine. I hit the really icey intersection when I was pulling out of a parking lot. Maybe going about 10mph and the road looked a little slushy but nothing worse than what the rest were. Well I wasn't even on the gas and my car decided to get understeer and i kinda slammed into the curb cracking my rim and putting a bulge in my tire. yay! now I don't only need rear tires and need front tires with new rims! woohoo...no money to do that though lol.
I did that once. Isn't it amazing how much damage you can do when you're driving slow? They should just put sand alongside the road . . . you know . . . like in Gran Turismo . . .
Yeah bro, my balancing is off now and my steering wheel shakes and everything lol. If they had sand like in gran turismo that could almost be worse lol. I was watching a race at the laguna seca and when the race was over a total of 6 cars were in the same sandtrap in the first turn at the end of the race. Its so deep they have to get towed out.

You'll need either wheel spacers or different struts to make 8" wide wheels fit...

Here's something else to think about. Generally, the larger the tire the more it costs. A set of new 17's for your rims would be cheaper then a set of 19's so figure that into your budget. Also, larger rims normally weigh more then the same but smaller rim. Personally, I'm stickin' with the 15's that came on the car and putting my money into some decent tires. To each his own.

Goodness [sm=bangbang.gif] I think I might just try to find some 19 x 7.5 or 18 x 7.5. I'm just so picky, I can't find a rim I like in the size I need. I'll probably wind up with some 18's. I'm just not interested in 17's.

Actaully I love 18s alot better than 17s or 19s they look awesome and the konig hot swaps in cf is what Im lookin into getting for the carshows and running my 16s in the winter. Not much difference in price for the tire and rim package and you wouldnt need to get spacers . I would look at discount tire direct thats where Im getting my 18s if I go with them for the spring and summer. Free shipping and under a grand to get.

I'd stick with 18's simply because they're easier to manage and you'll find more sizes that fit most likely....

You can check out these two sites if you want to find good deals on tires/wheels combo deals...

www.edgeracing.com
www.wheelmax.com

Edgeracing I've bought from a few times, and they're pretty good.

Really I never knew that so does that mean we get a tire and rim package at a cheaper price. That would be so nice.
