I have a 2003 dodge neon se, stock everything but stereo. I'm going to install 4 new speakers. My question is how to install the back speakers. Is there an easy way to remove the crapet that covers the speakers, or am I going to have to cut a hole around to install the back speakers?

Alright, cant say I've done that, is there anything special I should know for that or is that easy to do?

 

You need a torx bit to remove the seats but I can't remember what size.
Its a bit of a pain in the ***, but you can also just remove the rear pillars and pry up the carpet. There's usually a lot of debate on that, but I've done it. No biggie. Just a pain, just like removing the seats is a pain.

You dont need to take the seat out to change the rears. I didnt. Just put some muscle into it.

 

Remove the two plastic pillar covers in the rear. Just pry them off with a flat blade. Then if you dont want to take the seat out pry the carpet piece out with a flatblade. Thats were the muscle comes in.

I removed the two rear pillars, and the plastic seat belt guides. Folded down the seats and pulled the 4 plastic pins(lack of a better word) from the plastic piece in the middle, and remove that plastic piece.Then, Itook a flat screw driver and popped the carpet up. No need to remove the seats, all went back to the way it was.

Thanks guy, I got it all done. To bad these new speakers done have the bass the old ones do, they do sound alot better tho.
