never had a car with a trunk solenoid on it before this one. 05 sxt with keyless entry. ok started doing this like a week ago. sometimes when i pop the trunk on the remote, you can here the solenoid click but trunk doesnt open. with trunk ALREADY open, i can pop the trunk and you can see the cable on the back of the lock move but the lock doesnt pop. its not a permanent problem its intermittent but has been getting worse everyday. is solenoid going bad or is there a way to grease something in there. pls help.

 

you need to realign your deck lid, it has probably tweeked in some way. mine did this,sometimes I would have to click it 2 or 3 times to open it. If I put pressure on the passenger side corner near the window it would pop right open like it should. I Loosened the bolts on that side and realigned it with the old paint marks from the factory, and now it works fine. Or you could slightly bend the catch bracket to acheive the same it seems the trunk is aligned properly.
