His car is a SOHC and a 2nd gen is only 100lbs heavier than a 96 highline, and 200lbs heavier than a base 96. And Ive dropped my car into gear 3 times from neutral since i bought it. Too much wheel spin. Oh and I dont drop neutral bombs anymore so dont worry. Very bad for trans. Just a few nights being too stupid I guess.

 

Oh and the 4 speed wasn't introduced until 2002 Ithink. So were both 3 speeds.

I took a riced out first gen, I have no clue what it was or what was done to it. But, the kid who was driving it had a about 100lbs on me and the tach he had must of weighed a good amount.

I once raced a 2007 Mitsubishi eclipse 4cyl and we stayed dead even all the way. I think he had an auto. I was amazed. Then I found out a 07 Eclipse 4cyl only has about 20 more hp than my car.

 

yeah 20 more hp, and about 300 lbs heavier.... lol

yeah, I gotta say...the eclipse is probably 2nd right up next to the civic for having the most rice. I wouldn't mind have one of the GTs I guess...accept that I could get more power for the same price. The only one I think I would buy are the older AWD eclipses. Even those are kinda sluggish but a good car to start I think. It is just...everyone with an eclipse thinks they are faster than the speed of light...well not everyone but a lot of people, just like the civic.
