so i bought a new carbon fiberhood (new for me) the clear coat is sunfaded scratched and cracked the cracks seem to go all the way thru the top coat but not into the fiber itself i know i need to take the clear coat off and redo it... what do i need to use for the clear coat? Any other suggestions would be helpful too!
well the carbon fiber is not clear coat, but gelcoat, ALOT harder to try to patch.... how bad r the cracks???... u may want to think about just painting the hood were it is cracked the color of ur car or somethin.... just a though
You may have to sand it and prime it, I'd think that'd be about it. Im not sure if you'd have to add something to the paint, if you just painted directly on top of the gel coat.
sorry for the thread jack, i just might do that, because i can buy one from kaminari and just get it painted to match because i know it will fit on my car
