Tranny Problem..lookin for input
Whats goin on?
I'm the proud owner of a 2000 Neon ES. ATX. When I shift to R the car does nothing..doesnt shift into gear of any kind. While the car is running and in R I cannot push it. If I kill the motor and leave it in R, something gives and I can at least push the car. Shifting into N puts me into 1st gear and shifting into D puts me in normal D and the car shifts just fine. I originally thought it was just a linkage issue but that doesn't seem to be the case. I took it to my family mechanic who told me that...Also when smelling the tranny fluid it smells like it's been burned....I have an appt. set up for a tranny place to run Diagnostics on it first thing monday morning...but just curious if anyone has an idea of what the problem could be?
