Default Exhaust and tires

Hey all you super smart neon owners I was hoping you could give me your opinions on a couple things. I have an 01 with an AEM intake, header and A/FX race computer, but I'm still running the stock muffler because I'm trying to decide what to do for a muffler. I love how the SRT-4's mufflerless exhaust sounds with just resenators. Would I get a similar sound out of my neon if I went to just a resenator and no muffler? Or should I just go to the Flowmaster 60 series I was also considering?

Also I have a set of 17x7 rims that have 205/45/17 tires. I was told by the guy who sold me the wheels that with a neon I cant go to a 215 tire. Is this true? I want to put some 215/40/17s on it.

Any help/advice would really be appreciated.

well the guy is smoking some crack on the tires part cause i have 215/35R18 on mine. stock suspension and all. The exhaust, if you do the srt setup, midpipe with resonators and srt catback it will sound just a bit quiter from my experience.

The SRT-4 exhaust will not sounds like it does on an SRT-4 on your Neon because of the turbocharger. If you did end up going with the SRT rear section, you would want to install a glasspack, even though your R/T midpipe has a rather sizeable resonator already welded into it. As for the tires, you wont have any problems with 215/40/17's on stock suspension...

i have a 05 sxt with dual magnaflow exhaust.... it doesn't sound ugly at all.... i was first told by a honda owner that magnaflow would sound like strapping a can with a rock rattling inside of it but not at all lol....with the cai and the exhaust it sounds like a v8 (what some guy told me at a local gas station) but then again my cai isnt normal.... seems over sized.. im thinking about getting bigger tips tho since.. i believe they are only 3"....... and the tires would fit.. maybe he felt like they were going to rub....
