Got her salvaged for $3000 (ripoff, I know), and then I had to pay another $800 in registration fees. I sent my dad to check it out and pick it up. The next day, I was leaving his place and the car wouldn't start. We pop open the hood and inspect it more thoroughly only to find wires dangling everywhere. I wanted to take it back that day, but my dad, being the stubborn jackass that he is,suggested that his buddy is a good mechanic and he'll take care of it. I waited 3 weeks and finally his buddy came by to pick it up. $300 and a few days later, we go to pick it up. The car starts, but now the AC won't work. I get pissed-off and told my dad that the guy should put it back like it was. "No, no. I'll take care of it" he exclaimed. Few days later, my airbag light comes on. A few days after that, I get a second cyclinder misfire. The car is rumbling at stoplights, stalling when switching from 2nd to 3rd and I notice the gas mileage shot down by a large margin. So So I fixed the misfire and the stalling. Then a few months later, I get pulled over. It turns out that the license plate I was given belonged to a '92 Civic. 2 biker cops pulled me over and put my in handcuffs. They played good cop, bad cop and threatened me that defrauding the Department of Motor Vehicles is a minimum 2 year sentence. I'm ****ting my pants at that point and luckily, the good cop decided to let me go- with the exception that my car would spend it's days at the impound. Got it out the next day for $300 and I had to go to the DMV again to resolve the matter. Turns out that I did not get new plates because there was paperwork missing. It was a pain in the *** to reach the guy who sold it to me, so I had to keep going back to the DMV every month for an extension. (I'm getting ahead of myself). Anyway, I get into my first accident. Trying to switch lanes and a guy slammed on his brakes in front of me. My car wasn't damaged at all, but appearently I screwed up his bumper. My fault. After that whole ordeal was over, I let my (then) girlfriend drive it. Unforunately, it was her 2nd time behind the wheel. We were in a parking lot and (I don't know how the hell that bitch didn't see it) but she ran over a planter. I was too scared to look under my car. None-the-less, I didn't let her drive it again. A few weeks after that, my coolant starts leaking. Car stalls again. We repaired it that day. Then my idle air valve screws up a few days later- $120 gone just like that. Onthe day of the finals in my college, my alternator belt snaps and my car stops in the middle of traffic. I'm rushing to get a freaking essay in on time.Luckily, I was about 2 miles away frommy dads house.Yeah, 2 miles up hill (I live in California). I grab his car and luckily make itabout 5 minutes before the essay is due.Fixed the belt that day. Finally, the pictureyou see is the result of an incident that happenedabout a month and a half ago.

As the title suggests, it has been a hell-of-a-day here in Los Angeles. After work today, I enjoyed a nice BBQ with my family. After we all got ready to leave, I went downstairs, only to find that my front bumper of my vehicle was torn off, and large white streaks of paint were on the front fender. Something wasn't right here. I bent down and found a white metal hinge from a seemingly larger truck. Then my brother recalls seeing the white truck drive by, hit something (which to my brother's belief was a pothole) and then continue on as if nothing had happened. I would've been furious at this hit-and-run except for one minor thing- The truck was parked further up the street. The driver was not there, but this one guy was looking down from a porch and started asking what I wanted when I started writing down the truck's information. I informed him of my misfortune and he called up his buddy, who happened to be the one driving. I also decided to call the police to see if they may dispatch an officer for a police report and to report a hit-and-run. After about 10 minutes of waiting, the driver shows up and has a puzzled look on his face. I explained the situation and he claimed he was not aware of the damage he caused. We waited for 2 hours, and no cop showed up. My cousin suggested I continue to pursue this criminally and head down to the police station. I decided to go with my mother (who also had a scratch on her car, from which she believes the truck driver also caused) so that we may both file reports and decide whether we should pursue this criminally. The officer told me to take it to insurance, since I had the driver's name and insurance information. So, I decided to head out.
I start driving in my mother's car down the big boulevard that leads towards my house and out of nowhere, two males crossing in an unmarked crosswalk of the intersection pop out in front of me. I did in fact notice the vehicles on the left lane were stopped, but I had reason to believe that it was to avoid being stuck in the intersection (the street was busy). I slammed on the brakes, but because the males were walking towards the rear of the vehicle, I drove on. I was driving about 25mph in a 35mph zone. The police officer behind me decided to cite me, rather than the jaywalkers.
She got my license, and my mother's insurance information. After about 15 minutes, she returns and writes out a citation.

Second, as previously stated- The two guys were crossing at an unmarked crosswalk. Because the street was busy from east to west (which is the same direction I was driving), no other vehicle would be able to drive without blocking the intersection, hence the reason I believed it was not totally necessary to stop, since there was no crosswalk afterall.

Code and section: 21951 (not legible, but looks like) VCOAS Viol w/b #2 overtake and pass veh stopped for n/b peds (2) in unmarked xwalk
21951. Whenever any vehicle has stopped at a marked crosswalk or at any unmarked crosswalk at an intersection to permit a pedestrian to cross the roadway the driver of any other vehicle approaching from the rear shall not overtake and pass the stopped vehicle.
Then, to add a cherry on top; 3 weeks ago, I was driving and some old geezer in an '03 Mercedez cuts me off in my lane and I hit him in the side with the front left of my vehicle. He gets out and we exchange information. He had a big dent and a few scratches. My car... I'm not sure, it was already damaged. He calls me and says he's going to get estimates. I'm crapping bricks because Mercedez' are expensive. Luckily, it wasn't my fault to begin with and the insurance agreed (They actually called and told me yesterday).
Well anyway, here is a short list of things that are still wrong with my car:
Airbag light is on, wires are dangling everywhere, my front bumper is dented and misaligned with the fender, which is also dented, my front light is missing, my car has horrible gas mileage and no one wants to pay for the damaged caused by that truck driver.
Sorry for the long story, but if I don't take it out on here, then I'm afraid I'll take it out physically. [>:]

Also david i read your whole post man that really sucks. Im really sorry about all the **** that has happen to you. I guess ive had better luck with my rebulit. My neon is a rebuilt its come a long way but there still signs of the wreck if i look under hood. Dont let it get to you. Ive been really pissed at the neon. It gives me **** i give it ****.
