so everybody is getting rid of their neons huh? Neon03se is getting one along with you whatdoesitmatter. Spikey is selling his off soon, anybody else selling or getting rid of theirs, just curious. Well I know that neon03 is giving it to his gf, and i'm keeping mine as a project when i get the hemi.
Yeah me too, buying a GTO...
I hope you mean an old gto and not the monaro gto.
I know they have a 6.0L but IMO that doesn't make up for the look's and the way it doesnt live up to the old gto's like I have.
Test drove one new a while ago and i didnt like it.
Anyway g/l with your next car
Nope, I plan on getting an LS2 M6 Holden Monaro...if it makes you feel any better, I think it should ahve been galled a Grand Prix GXP Coupe or something along those lines. But given I can get a 400HP, low-13 second, 6-speed manual, two door coupe, for right around $20k theres not much to complain about IMO.

Plus, I dont find the looks of this to be anything to vomit over:

Besides, the GTO isnt my only option/choice, its just really high up on the list.
Well with the modifications done to that car it looks better, most newer gto's i see come in that yellow color. the hood, rims and the lower air dam really go well with the car.
By my comment i didnt mean it was an ugly car i just thought it doesnt look good compared to older gto's.

So what are you looking to do Modification wise if you go through with buying one, anything special like supercharger or engine mods?
Besides the basics of course.

Oh no doubt, its nothing compared to the original/older GTO's, which is why I think it should have been called a different name to begin with. As far as mods, if I get a black one I'm going to get the above Banshee hood (CF of course), CAI, some suspension work (tower strut bars, lowering springs, new struts, sways, etc). I would love to strap a Maggie on an LS2 and crank out 500HP, but I'll probably just go with a bigger TB, FAST intake majnifold, tuner, headers, and a full exahust. Maybe a nice cam down the road...by then I should be a little over 400rwhp/400rwtq.

Sounds like a fun toy, good luck.
If you get it, don't forget to make some neon srt4/ caliber srt4owner's unhappy by beating em in tiny races.
Ah yes i remember the ralliart is on there too, I'm also thinking into that, but my father is going to buy a challenger r/t in dec. and when the lease is up on it I might buy it but thats a long way down the road and my neon is not likely to make it that long.
BTW the gto i have will be for sale soon.

I have a few candidates for my eventual successor, but that list is totally confidential[8D]. Right now I'm just finishing up the second (and final) round of interviews for a great job in the area with a nice *** salary (for me anyways lol). So, assuming I get this job it will probably be at the end of April at the earliest. Not to mention, there has to be one for sale that I like, and I have to make the final decision that its the right car to buy, no matter how much i really want it.

well you gonna beat me to the new muscle maybe. I say the GTO over the SI. GTO has more hp and be more fun, si has good gas mileage and that bout it[8D].

Me and my father will be selling the goat at the end of the show season.
It has:
400 motor rebuilt 10k ago
87k on the body and chasis
The car is restored, with some original parts like the chrome/ stainless trim in which could use fresh rechrome.
Rallye 2 wheels
Have ram air setup , new hood scoop and fiberglass intake inlet
Interior is al new except for the console( because if you already didnt know they cost 1000+ to restore the center console)
Tomarrow me and my father are going to detail the engine( fresh pontiac blue paint, new spark plug wires, replacing heads/head gaskets , repainting the intake manifold, some stainless braided fuel lines, new chrome brake booster cover and putting a fesh coat of blackpaint in the inner fender walls and the fire wall)
Car does have bigger cams in it( can't remeber of the top of my head)
POSI rear end
67 front end conversion( including front disc brakes)
The exterior paint has its imperfections, like on the hood their is bubble's but other than that it is perfect last repaint was 2002 when car was restored.
I know theres more but that's all i can think of right now.
