My wife and I just bought a used 2005 Neon SE as a commuter car (my serious car, a 350Z, is nowhere near practical). We bought a dead base model, so no power locks/windows.

I've done the conversion before on other cars (a Focus and a Saturn), and not had much of a problem, but I need to know if the locks on this car are rod or cable actuated. Anyone know?

I've usually used the MES locking kits and the SPAL window kits. The install wont be a problem, just need to know the acutator type before I order, and dont see the answer in a search.

i believe they are rod actuated. when they installed me power lock on my ES, they had to file down the rod that the "popper" connected to so it would fit properly

 

i think they are cable but not 100% sure. Had mine done professionally

 

they're rod... i took my door panel apart to install speakers and rods connecting to the locks...i have a 2005 sxt...dont think they'd be different since they are the same year...

 

They are rods on my 2000.
