Transmission - Weird Intermittent Slip - Question
Hi,
I tried to search for my problem without much luck.
I have a 2000 Dodge Neon with the 3 speed automatic transmission. This tranny is a used tranny installed about 1 month ago. My problem happens in normal city driving when accelerating from a stop. While steadily accelerating, the car shifts into 2nd gear. Still reving smoothly and accelerating. However, about one second after the shift into 2nd gear, the car rev's up forhalf asecond, then "catches" itself again and this "slip" doesn't appear again while accelerating onwards.Everytime Iaccelerate modestly from a stop, I have the same thing happen right after the 2nd gear shift.
Now,when I accelerate from a stop and give her aquick start andstay a little heavy on the throttle, there are absolutely no symptoms of this reviing or slipping in any gear or rpm.
Any advice? Someone told me that it could be related to the Tranny Computer. But someone else told me that these carstranny computers are notreplaceable or something to that effect. Can the dealer re-flash the tranny? I have warranty for another 2 months on the tranny, so I need to figure out if this is a problem that is related to the transmission or the electronics of it all!
Any help is greatly appreciated!

I have the same problem, kinda. When accelerating at a normal pace 2000-2250 it shifts from 1st to 2nd normally then about a second or 2 later it 'slams' pretty hard as if you were to N drop it. doesnt happen over 3k and doesnt seem to slip. just slam.
do a few neutral drops and blow that sumbitch up then take it back to Billy-Bobs used tranny and redneck tanning salon and have them replace it.
i have the (4speed atx?) 2005 sxt, and mine does that little slip thing when im in third with the a/c on under normal driving conditions. i dont actually think its a problem. the car gets used to how you drive (computer) and with mine, since i like to gun it alot, sometimes i think it expects it and down shifts for a half second and then realizes im not so shifts back to the right gear. just my opinion or maybe im crazy and think my car is alive.
