Default Throttle Body

hello, currently i have a few performance mods on my 04 sxt. CAI, RT Exhaust, and headers..and i was just wondering if i would beneift from a 60 mm throttle? im getting an exhaust system soon, but that wont be for a month or 2. so thatll be next. but i was just wondering if the throttle body is really worth the 300 bucks. Also, whats the stock diameter on an ATX SXT throttle?

thanks.

Stock ATX TB is about 50mm....they say it's 52mm but if you actually measure it with a caliper it's more like 50mm.

And as for the 60mm yes, it is worth it. You will lose low end torque but gain end torque on it; not dramatically noticable.

I currently have a 65MM TB.

I've heard the bigger TBs really bog you down if you don't have much done. As in its better to wait awhile to get one. Although, it seems like everything I do to my car adds to top end power and not the bottom end power.

They do take away some low end but they give you top end. But its not really noticable. They are worth it. There was a Dyno sheet running around witht he differences between the 55mm and the 60mm and they really aren't that far off. Performance wise they are fairly close.

1g.

Lemme measure the TB I think it might actually be bigger than that. I've got it off the car right now.

Ok, I'm sorry. Its actually smaller but not by much. Its actually 63MM.

Its off a Jeep. I took the Dremel to it.

I'm not done, I think I can get at least 65-67 out of it.

How are you going to dremel a throttle body and get it to seal properly at the butterfly? And what about the new throttle plate? Most operations like this are done on milling machines.
