hey man you will be fine without the bypass valve as long as you dont completely submerge your air filter.... that would be like trying to run a high water crossing and getting your car filled with water...ive gone through 6 inches of water without a problem...i live in san antonio and theres plenty of idiots trying to cross... then again im from cali and i'm proud im not from here lol....but if u really dont want to continue with your CAI u should get a short ram intake... also if u really want the stock air box filter i have mine in the addic....

well if u live in a place where flooding is a big problem like where i live....then a bypass valve is a very important investment you need to get...if you dont live where it floods then you will prolly be ok but would suggest getting one anyway in case you in a different city where it happens to flood and you need to drive somewhere....you never know. I put mine on last week and its working fine, wont be driving it through mississippi rivers just to test it out tho .... anyways here is where i got mine

the reason y i want to change to a stock air box is due of the use of the car. i put a lot of miles and just the other day i took out the intake to clean it and knotice light dust. also i have to watch for wather everytime.

what i want to do is get that air box and put a k/n filter and i'll be satisfied.

uh...the original post at the top here is kinda confusing...

is he looking for a stock air box or a bypass valve?

by the way, may not mean too much I guess, if you don't have a really high-performance engine, but I always heard that if you go thru all the trouble of putting on a CAI, then add a bypass valve, you might as well have left the stock air box in... makes it go right back to stock air flow when that valve is installed...unless you just like the look of the big chrome tube
(haven't seem any kind of test equipment numbers for either side of the argument tho...)
