Ok im getting pissed, this happened june of last year and hasn't done it again until yesterday on my way home from work. Last year I was driving down I-79 running about 75-80 and my car acts like it just quit!, but if you let it get down to about 3200rpms it will stay running, but as soon as you give it any fuel it will fall on its face like it quit. The weird thing is I turned the car off thinking something was hot, let it set for a minute and started it back up and it ran like a bat out of hell the rest of the way home. Since then it has done it 2 more time's as soon as it starts you turn it off and start it right back up and its fine, it's like it resetting something. But it has been since june of last year since it has done that until yesterday, but like I said I turn the key off and right back on and its been fine.

I have a mp/x 60mm TB,mp/x under-drive pulley,af/x long tube header, pacesetter cat-back into duals, Granitelli wires, cold air intake.

I only have my upstream o2 hooked up my down stream is gone, and I don't have a cat. If anyone has had this problem or No's something, please let me no. I'm getting pissed, I've been a mechanic for over 10 or more years and this is driving me crazy. I have an idea what it is but I don't like to just start changing parts. So if anyone has and info PLEASE HELP!!!

well if the downstream is disconnected i would say that could be the problem....... just me though :-\ could also be a clog somewhere in the fuel system... fuel filter might be clogged or too dirty? it shouldnt be but its possible... first thin i'd do if i were you is i would get that downstream o2 sensor hooked up and see if that fixes it.... and you are going 75-80mph and you have to go DOWN to 3200rpm.... are you cruising in like 3rd or 4th gear or something....? if you are i'd say the rev-limiter or over-heating the transmission would be your problem.... lol :-P hope this helps...

 

Im cruising in 5th, I can run about 60 in 5th when it happens. yeah I had the cruise set at 75 to 80 when it first happened. It has always happend when im on the intersate going between 65 and up. Like I said you cant go over 60 cause its starts getting over 3 grand. Thanks I was going to put a high flow cat and hook back up the down stream o2, but I wanted some peoples opinion.

Sounds like the classic limp mode caused by aftermarket 60mm throttle bodies on some 2003 R/T's...switch back to stock and see if it keeps happening or not.

 

awww that sucks he cant use the 60mm TB?! ouch not good
