Did you get your CAI from eBay? I am guessing it i, it looks like it. So yeh, those do work...but like i mentioned in my other thread, i kinda effed it up because i killed the filter. lol...and plus it is easier to remove and use a recharge kit on a filter in the engine bay than in the fender well. (in my opinion)

RE: Out With The Old In With The New
Im sure it is. I didnt know the guy was selling the one like you have. I might of got that one instead. But doesnt your draw in a 50/50 mix of hot and cold air since its by the engine? I cant work on mines because its going to rain so Ill have to go to my uncles.
Yeh that is true. You could get a heat sheild for it though. Ithink that SRI is good for low end and acceleration, and CAI is good for high end and top speeds.

RE: Out With The Old In With The New
Hmmm... I have to look into that. I was just reading about hydrolock. Has anybody ever had this happen while using a CAI?
For the people who may not know, hydrolock- Is when your filter sucks up water or water vapor and it goes into the engine.
yes, i have hurd of it happen... BUT.... the people have been stupid driving threw big puddles of water.... that is how it happens, u pritty much have to fill the filter under water to get it to hydroloc.....

i hydrolocked my car last year...the city i live in floods really really bad and when i say bad i mean we have concrete medians in the middle of the road and the water goes over that so its like a big river. Anyways mine hydrolocked on me when i was on my way home from work, i was pulling onto my street and there was a dip and thats when it hydrolocked. After rebuilding my whole engine i put my CAI back on only about a month ago and then put the bypass valve on about 3 weeks ago and im not about to go test to see if that bypass valve works lol so i dont drive my car at all when it rains. I usually get someone to pick me up.
But i think my city is one of the very few that floods like that... Our drainage system is ****ty and relies on gravity to pull the water to the lakes =\ so im sure wherever you are you would be fine however i would get a bypass valve just in case your out of town or something and in a place like where i am at cuz you never know
