Default clutch, bad or not

hi i have a 2000 neon i just bought with 71k on it.l i have been worrying about the clutch since i bought it and it just seems to get worse. the neon i have is supposed to have a self adjusting cable, i dont know how it works cause i have ripped it apart yet, but my clutch starts to catch wayy at the end, about a 1/2 in from totally out. but if i put it in first gear ride the brake a little and give it gas it dosent seem to slip at all. so do you think i should be worried, or dose some one elses neon have the same problem?
thanks joe

If its the same as my 98, mine grips up by the top of the pedal. I just put a new clutch in and it still is at the same spot. Its a modular clutch, meaning its all one piece and is self adjusting. If its not slipping I would not worry bout it.

There is no way to adjust the cable that I know of. Mine is less than a month old and it catches pretty close to the top. I think thats just the way they are made.
