sometimes at idle, i can hear this rattle... like two pieces of metal shaking on top of each other, and it will do it when i shift, more so at higher rpms. i was thinking maybe the case on the catalytic converter is loose and rattles a little bit. can anyone think of something else it could be. it doesnt really sound harmfull, just really freaking annoying.

 

Sure its not something in the interior? Such as your dashboard or glovebox. That seems to be the most common things that rattles in my car at times. Thanks motor inserts.

 

Can you be a little more specific as to where its comming from? My hood ratles now that I have solid MM, I had to put a lillte piece of rubber in the mount to stop it.

 

yeah sorry... its def. coming from outside of the car... under the hood somewhere. but im pretty sure its not the hood itself.

 

It took me 6 months to find mine, and thats where it was the hood.
