custom CAI
has anyone modded their intake? i took an ebay intake (2.5") and cut it after the sensor, and used a 3" plastic flex tube, and went back to 2.5" to put my k&n filter on it. i noticed an improvement in the powerband (4000 rpms +). but. i took it off a couple days after due to gas mileage, i got a little less. i use my 04 r/t as a pizza delivery car and lost like 20-30 miles per tank. anyone else running a custom CAI? check out my picture if youd like.

RE: custom CAI
Well I never really had a custom CAI....but there was this one time where i destroyed my CAI (the filter fell off and got crushed under my wheels)
So i had no choice but to but back my old stock air box inside the fender and cut the CAI so that the pipe would go straight into the box. Then i had to order another intake and this time, i bought a SRI (short ram intake) so that i wont have the problem of the filter getting destroyed again. During that week that i was waiting for my new Sri to ship, i hated driving the CAI/stock airbox because my car lost SOOOO much power and acceleration and the MPG was terrible and i practically struggled going up hills.
here is now my intake looks in my engine right now.
