Default Small crack in oil pan

Even though this isn't strictly a Neon issue I'm going to post it here as well as on the Stratus forums since I know my 2000 Neon has an aluminum oil pam like my Stratus.

My girlfriend ran my 2003 Dodge Stratus 4 door over a curb and it looks like there is a tiny crack in the aluminum oil pan. It’s not bad but it does drip a few drops over night. It’s so small I can’t even discern the crack itself but oil is seeping through and there is a deep scrape in the aluminum. My question is can the oil pan be fixed somehow while it’s on the car? Welded perhaps or some kind of epoxy? Or am I stuck with this small leak unless I want to change out the entire pan? The engine is the standard 2.4.

tig weld it, prolly the best bet is to pull the oil pan to get a good bond with the weld...if u pulled the pan and depending on how big the crack is i cant emagine it would cost more than 25 dollars to get welded up

you could blend some JB weld in the scraped area. it is worth a try.

Those of you that have a K&N Typhoon CAI on your 2nd Gen, do you take it off during the winter or not? I read on K&N's website they advise removing it during adverse weather conditions, like those found in the winter months.

Left mine on all winter long andI live in Upstate NY as well. Just try to avoid big puddles...

Michigan here..over 100 inches of snow last winter and temperatures at or below 0 for an extended period. I had no problems with it being on there what so ever. Like he said, don't go driving through any rivers or giant puddles.

its worth a shot... if it doesn't work then go and get it tig welded like Dtjacken said. any leak is an issue. best to get it fixed before it gets worse. IMO.
