Default needing some back seat assistance ;)

I got an '03 neon and my rear right 6'9 was crackling. I bought a couple of xplods, and found out I got no clue how to get under that carpet. So if you have done it, I'd appreciate the advice, thanks.

Correct way to do it take the back seat out and do it right. Ghetto way, you should be able to sneak the rear deck cover up and install them.

Well yes, I figured I would have to pull out the back seat. I have examined it quite a bit, but still dont know how. Are there like bolts under the seat where it touches the floor carpet? I could pull that part of the seat up a bit, but I dont wanna ruin anything.

Back seat is easy to take out. The bottom part of the seat just pulls up. Just grab the bottom on both sides and lift up, it pops out. Then there are bolts that hold the vertical part of the seat in. You need a torx T55 bit to take the bolts out. Then it lifts out.

If it's anything like my 01, I can tell you exactly how to do it, considering I have the master sheets from crutchfield.

The buttom cushion should just pop out. If not, check for a couple of screws on either side. The back support is held on by two T-55 screws aong with the female ends of the seat belt. After you take those out, it's just a matter of lifting the back up, as it is held on by two clips on either side. The seat belts can sometime be a hassle, but they can easily be moved aside once you get the back free. On the '01, there are three baby seat mounts on the rear deck. They should just pop out, but if you want to keep a factory look, be careful, because thay can break easily. After that, you shoud be able to take off the seat belt trim pieces on the rear deck, and then just pull the rear deck up from the center. Pulling it from the center draws the outside of the rear deck in. If you try to pull the rear deck from the sides, you'll just end up breaking the cuttout for the seat belts. After you pull the rear deck up, make sure to take the seat belts out from the cuttout, because they can break the cuttouts also. After that, it's just a matter of unscrewing the old factory's and installing the new speakers. Can't say much about Sony though. I would have gone Infinity Kapps's. You probaly won't noticed too much of a difference with the new 6 X 9's if you are still running the factory radio. It doesn't put out much for watts. Unless the Xplod's have a high spl... In any case, enjoy!

If anyone needs any assistance about car audio for the 2nd gen Neon, don't hesitate to hit me up...
