Went out a bought a 6 in polishing wheel this mourning and man they look good...
I layed the wheel right next to our caliber to show that its not a chrome shine, but close to it.

Another one to show just how shiny they are:

Ad a couple more.

Today I resumed work on the second wheel.
It is almost finished with the exception of the graphite paint and a couple hours of polishing.
To give you the idea of how much materials is needed for this project, this pic shows a little more than half of whats needed:

So far I have spent over 100 bucks and I have only completely finished 1 wheel
And here is a pic of how much polishing and that mother's billet really make.

yea but those are the materials you need if you are gonna do this by hand.... honestly I think I'd use a dremel and a few sanding, grinding and polishing bits, then maybe a few sheets of realllllllllllll fine sand paper for those tough spots.... but hey its all good i love the way they are commin out! :-D

Yeah, I think I would use a D/A orbital and maybe a dremel for the tight spots... maybe just save the fine stuff and a polishing wheel for last like Izero said.

But, I must say, you are still an artist... quite a shine you have put on those so far, nice attention to detail all-around.

WOW you make it sound so easy, but it would be more work.

That would be the more expensive route, and using a dremel can be very dangerous sayI slip,I can ruin the whole wheel of create alot more work than whatI would normally have to do.

I am fine with my black and decker mouse sander, its the perfect size

To finish my 2nd wheel allI have to do is finish laying out the tape, paint it and finally polishing the wheel. Then you will see the long awaited pics...

Wasn't tired at all, to tell you the truth, if we had 24 hours of sunlightI could have gotten 3 done!
But I was running out of materials, to get to it look like that its costing over 30 bucks a wheel.
What made you decide to do that to your rims? I like how they look. What a difference sand paper and Mother's can make.

Well karr, my plans at first were to get rid of the curb damage and refinish the wheels in graphite paint.

I started researching the process of redoing them and came across some how to's to refinish old aftermarket wheels with polished lips, so i did a bit of pondering and came up with my game plan.
I applied everything he used to refinsh the lip tomy whole wheel, then i was thinking about how it wouldn't look nice with the whole wheel being shiny since it will not match anything on the car, so I decided to accent it with the graphite colored paint in between the spokes.
