Default Magnaflow

Ok i am looking into buying a magnaflow axle back kit for my 2004 SXT but I have a few questions to ask you guys or girls. I was wondering what size the stock pipeing is? Is it worth the 40 bucks to but the stainless steel? Will it hang below my stock bumper or will i have to modify to make it fit? Has anyone found this muffler or preferably the borla muffler anywhere else? Here is a link to the website please give me some help ASAP I wanna get rid of my retard stock muffler[:@].

Stock is 2 1/4". I have heard of a few people that have the magnaflow and are happy. You probally want to get some mandral bent tubing for better flow though, and if you are planning on any other mods in the future, go with 2 1/2" piping.

I believe the stock cat-back for a reg. Neon is 2". If the exhaust is 2 1/4 then Modern Performance messed up on their website (which I doubt).

I'm going to post the same info I posted under the other exhaust post. This is the description of the Borla cat-back at www.modernperformance.com for the 2nd gen Neon (2000-up)

BORLA:

2.25 inch piping (.25 larger than stock) Direct fitment, no cutting, welding or modifications needed Stainless steel piping, mufflers, and polished stainless tip. Comes with stainless steel clamps.
World renown Borla build quality, awesome deep tone, and about 20-30% louder than stock Limited lifetime warranty from Borla

This is also off of moderns site. I think there are 2 different set-ups.

Re-placement Catalytic Converter for 2000+ Neon

.
This is a direct replacement for all 00-05 Neons with 2.25 inch piping.

Note: some 2000 year Neons came with 2.25 inch piping, and therefore this piece will need to have a reducer welded in, or be clamped down by a muffler shop.
Piping size 1
piping size 2piping size 3

Depending on the year the neon is either 2 1/4" or 2 1/2". I have a 1st gen that is 2 1/2" piping stock. Some of the 2nd gens are either 2 1/4" or 2 1/2".
