Default Trans ?

I think this has been on here before but I can not find it.
I would like to have a list of parts to swap my neon from auto to manual trans.
Or if it would be better to just get a car thats a stick.

Thanks.

That depends on your financial situation. If money works right for you, then obviously it's easier just to swap your entire car for a MTX instead of an ATX.

If you were to try to convert your automatic to manual, you would need the following:

MTX transmission.
Possibly CV shafts?
Clutch pedal, master cylinder and associated hardware, including fabbed pedal brackets into firewall.
Shifter, linkage, etc etc.
ECU out of the donor car you are getting the transmission from.
Numerous minor details a small amount of fabrication to get everything right.

There's probably more that I am forgetting, but I am not fully awake yet either lol

Here's a good link, might be the same one gizmo was talking about. It is very detailed and has a lot of pics. https://www.msu.edu/~lareseer/trannySwap.html It is for a 1st gen but it will give you a good idea how to swap.
