Default Need to install power steering pump and Belt

My power steering pump and Belt are both shot and dead. Instruction on how to install both of these and what parts to use would be appreciated. Pictures and diagrams would be nice.

In order to install power steering belts you have to take the power steering pump off first, please read the little manual I have linked above it will tell you everything you need to know.

NO, on a neon you don't have to take your pump off to install a new belt...are you crazy?!?!?!

And your power steering belt and your alternator belt are 2 different belts, if your PS pump is gone you won't even need to look at the other belt.

BUT...

To take off your power steering belt you'll need a 1/2 drive(Or 3/8? Can't remember) long bar or even a wrench with maybe a pipe. There is a tensioner pully you'll need to pull back to take the belt off. Stick the wrench in the hole in the pully mount and simply pull it in the right direction.

To take off the alternator belt, you need to loosen off the bolt that's head is facing the passenger side(On the alternator), then loosen the bolt on the back, which head is facing the back of the car(Also on the alternator).

Done like dinner. Your pump should come off now with just a few bolts and a hose clamp/fitting. It'll leak like mad so be fast.

Oh and if you were told your power steering pump was shot cause it GROANS...it might not be. Just fill *over* the fill line and you might be lucky, I have been on a few cars. Like fill it up right to the bottom of the brim where the threads start on the cap, obviously leave some air in there.

I have the same neon, the PS groaned and I fixed it like that, saved me tons of cash.

Pulley and bearing come off with just one bolt on the tensioner.

Just do yourself a favor and make sure that you are replacing the bearing with a brand new one... you will save yourself the headache of doing it all over again in a few months.
