Unhappy Please help,kirk header problems

I have a 04 neon sxt. I bought some kirk long tube headers from modern performance and i been having problems ever since. First of all the engine light came on which i was kind of expecting since i deleted the converter. But the car keeps wanting to cut off on me when i stop at lights or stop period for that matter. It starts to chug like if its about to run out of gas or something. Any advice will help. I think it might be something with the sensors. Please help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What code(s) are you throwing? It does indeed sound like you are having a problem with an O2 sensor possibly.

I havent had it checked for codes yet. I was also thinking it might be a sensor. Do you think if i put a converter back on it it'll help?

It might, but I would just find out what code(s) it is throwing first. That will give you place to start so you aren't just "guessing".

You know about the key dance thing to check your codes, right?

Sitting in the car with the doors closed, turn the key to the on position (but don't start the car), then off, three times very quickly (on-off-on-off-on), leaving it in the "on" position after the third twist. Then watch your odometer display for a list of codes followed by the word "done."
Post your codes up here for help.

i have a long tube header and no cat, and never had a problem, there are two sensors, one goes on the cat which is just tied up on mine and there is one on the header or there should be, that one is pluged in, i am not sure what the one on the header actually senses but on the cat it tells how rich the exhuast is, and if stand in back you can smell those sweet rich fumes. my engine light has been on ever since but never a hesitation.
