Some dumb SUV backed up into me on a stop, my hood is slightly bent and dented, the paint on the front bumper is dented and paint is scratched off (there's also a crease in the bumper, so i doubt they can just hammer the dent out and repaint it), the frame in front which holds the hood and the hook that locks the hood down is also bent. These are all only body damages, I'm debating wether to have the guy bring it to a shop for me (because he works at an autobody shop), or just get the check from the insurance co. Any suggestions wouldl be great! Thank you.

 

You'll probably need a new hood and bumper at the very least it sounds. Not to mention both will need to be painted. I'm not really sure on a figure....I'd probably just let insurance take care of it if it was me. Thats what you have it for anyways.

 

I would also go with the insurance company. Expect a repair around $1000.
