Default 01 problem

my gf has a 2001 neon with about 45k miles. over the past two weeks traveling to school, her engine has just shut off for unknown reason. both times so far at highway speeds. before it happened the second time, the needle for the speedometer went up to 120, and then the other way real fast and now it's behind the pin that holds the needle up... any reason for this? or is this just another magnificent dodge product?

Her car is possessed, you should seek a preist to release the demons from the car...

If that doesn't work, Id Try to see if it set off any Codes.

Crank sensor wireing could be a possible problem.
I have seen this cause a problem recently. off top of my head something to check.

Sounds like the speed sensor is going bad to me.

Just a little tip in life.

Whenever you are in need of help, it pays to be humble. I hope this helps you out.

I had a similar problem about 5 months ago.
Driving about 70, Hit the turn signal to change lanes, Car dies.
I tried multiple times to restart my car, No go.
The dash lights would blink but there was no horn, head lights, or turn signals
While sitting out on the highway waiting for a tow, I tried it again.... Eureaka! Car starts.
Ran good for 10 miles or so. Hit the turn signal to change lanes again, Car died.
To make a long story short it turned out to be a multiswitch that controls the hazards, headlights and turnsignals.
I'm not saying that this is your problem but Neons tend to act this way when there is an electrical problem.
