Yes it has dual handle cutting breaks, and yes it is extremely short wheelbase. Not sure how much it has been shortened but the nose of the transaxle is about even with the back of the seats.

I never drove anything but my neon rt while I owned it. in the past though i've driven a honda civic, a chevy nova, a 1st gen neon highline, a suzuki swift, a geo metro, a full size 82 buick, a full size 84 buick, a pontiac station wagon, an old chevy suburban, a partially restored 57 chevy hardtop, and a 75 plymoth duster (my first car <3 )

with the exception of the 57 chevy, my neon rt was the funnest of the bunch. and i didn't actually own the 57. And the RT actually was the fastest of them. I was shocked at how many tiburons, or v6 mustangs, or 300m's, or taurus SHO's, or even a BMW and a harley, all could not keep up at a red light.

1989 Toyota Corolla GT-S 16v, 5 speed manuel, its great on gas, and actually my daily driver even though i am paying for my neon still,it gets better gas mileage, and is just as fast if not faster than my neon up to about 70mph,1.6L pulls hard through the upper RPMs. and has alot of rust and 130+miles on it, i hope it will make it through the winter and keep my neon out of the salty roads.
