2000 Neon sticks in park - cruise
I woke up with a new problem this morning on my well seasoned neon. It didn't want to shift out of park. I had to force the lever on the stick in to get it to move. While driving, the transmission seems to be performing well - except the cruise control didn't dis-engage this morning either when I depressed the brake as usual. I had to push it to the floor.
Is this possibly a brake switch or soleniod pack ???
Any ideas where I should begin?
I will be spending this weekend changing the oil - valve cover and tube gaskets. I might as well have fun with this too. I'm ok with a wrench, but I work on HVACR units and could really use some help on where to start.

Well, I did some good ol’ fashioned trouble shooting (prayed real hard)
Brake Light Switch /) Part # CR4834 @ Autozone - $10 and some change - it controls: the cruise control, the brake lights, shift lever (maybe a few other things…lol) It took about 5 min to change out. Now I have brake lights, my transmission shifts out of park without brute force and my cruise control doesn’t stick in @ 75 mph!
