Default Oil on plug #2

Changed out the plugs and saw oil around the plug. About a tablespoon full. There is a metal sleve in there. This was raised. I tapped it with hammer and replaced all plugs with NGK. Took it for a spin no more oil. Should I keep an eye on it? The Saturn I owned previously had to have the valve cover replaced and the oil rings. Is this the same? Possible the oil change put to much oil in?

You did the right thing by lightly (I hope) hitting it with a rubber mallet dwon back into place. They occasionally do work their way up from time to time. The problem is one of your tube seals that will have to be replaced when you get a chance, but its not urgent becuase you only found a little bit of oil in the spark plug tube. This is not caused from putting to much oil in the cause is a tube seal on its way out.

I've had this same case, it happened when I first had the car and didn't know how much oil to put in, and I put in too much. So the oil started making its way into the spark plugs. After discovering that, I went to a local oil place and asked them to drain XXX amount to make it 4.5 quarts. Then I did a tune up (new plugs, tubes, gasket, etc) and so I learned my lesson from that. Maybe you did the same mistake like me?

Same thing happened on my '01. 3 of the 4 tubes were coming out.

could be the tube seal on the top but sohc neons also have a problem with oil leaking in through the bottom of the spark plug tube. There isn't a seal for the bottom, it just presses into the head. Dodge has a technical service bulletin out on this. The solution is to remove the leaking tube and use ANAROBIC sealant between the tube and the cylinder head.

same s*** happened to me and i hit it down also.it stays down for a long time(a year)

Went 160 miles yesterday and I looked last night, its dry. I'll keep an eye on it. Once extended warranty kicks in, Ill take it in.

yea i mean it will burn off and go away.i hate how they do that but mine has 117K so im not suprised i guess.

The saturn leaked on the valve cover when we got it. That forum had step-by-step pics, so I did it myself and replaced the o-rings for the plugs too. Even though they didn't leak, the kit came with them. Never leaked in the year I had it. So, I wasn't to surprised.

Oh, side note. Placed at first the plugs with Auto lite 2x platinum plugs and it ran like crap. Put old plugs back in and it was ok. Sign of relief! Took them back and got the NGK V-power and all is good.
