Now here is the deterent, that makes me just want to refinish them as they are now:

Materials will cost me $352.75 with out my discount, Discount is 20% but thats still alot of dough I have to save up.

I would be using:
1qt salsa pearlcoat red ppg dbc 2000
1gt Brilliant black crystal pearlcoat ppg dbc 2000
1Gal 2k Kustom shop clear, + reducer & hardener

All Urethane and Chrysler colors.

I wouldn't cut corners this time, alot of layers of clear and these wheels will be durable especially with this high end clear.


So that means that this would become a summer project if I go this route because, I have to finish my other two projects.

didnt u polish those rims to start though???? why paint over the work u had into it???

 

They have really taking a beating for the 4 months before winter and plus I saw people with the same design as them in my area, its time to change them. Its not like any one is going to copy the new design:

This is my favorite so far:
red lip, red center cap ,with red only on the inside of the spokes, the rest will be black.

 

What did they do srt? my clear has pealed off my 17s and i am thinking about wetsanding them to make them not look so nasty, but just wondering what the best way to go about it is???

 

I saw two srt's in my area with the same basic designs, one had polished face with black inbetweens another had chrome painted face with black inbetweens.

Wetsand with 1200 grit to get most of the clear off, but don't sand down to the basecoat.

Get some decent clear preferably automotive car clear and clear coat them with like 6 coats of it. If you must use rattle can go with U-pol.

 

my lip is polished already, i was thinking about just wetsanding the clear off them and not clearing them again?????

 

do you have the original picture? if so I can photoshop a more clean picture of your paint scheme idea
