exterior sound is a result of not enough dampening material. i have a 300rms total amp pushing my comps up front and 1200rms total going to my subs and unless you are in the car or i have the volume over 75% you can barely hear anything outside the car. proper planning and application of dampening is just as, if not more, important as the equipment.

I have two 12's in my trunk. I dont have much trunk room but oh well I got plenty of bass!!! Plus the extra 100 pounds helps in the snow.

a lot depends on the equipment being used. my type-x comps don't even come to life until they have at least 100 per side.

dynomat will only improve the sound of your system. you can still blast the hell out of them with sound you just have to roll down the windows it will also greatly help the sound on the outside of your car - it won't sound like you are dragging a garbage can down the road when your bass hits.
