Hey!
I'm new to the forums and am hoping someone can help me with something on my Neon.
Its a 2000 Dodge Neon. Everytime I punch the accelerator, a chime sounds and the emergency brake light comes on. The light stays on for about 15 seconds before going off again. Does anyone know what could be causing this? Its very annoying to have that chime going off as in traffic. Any help would be appreciated.

I had the same problem when I first got my car. It had about 43XXX miles on it. It only came on when I punched it real hard, but it seems to have gone away.

 

if the brake light comes on, it's either because the e-brake has been engaged (or that sensor is going screwy) or there's something wrong with your brake system. Check your fluid levels and all that.
