Default few e-cutout ?'s

i'm probably gonna purchase an electric exhaust cutout soon, anyone know what size i would need to get to fit our cars? 2.25?

also, anyone have one? if so, what brand is it? there's so many different sites that sell e-cutouts

i'm under the impression that the car will sound exactly as it does now, but when i hit the switch it'll be like i took off the cat?

We had an eletric cut out on our gto, it was the QTP brand. It was the first thing that we took of the car when we got it. IMO is sounded really fake and to raspy for our tastes so it had to go, even on an 8 cylinder, i can't imagine how aweful it would sound on a 4 banger.

sweet! btw, is it hard to adjust the non-electric ones? do you ever adjust yours lol? because down here i probably will get ticketed if i drive past a cop like that, that's why i want one that's easy to switch

really? i was under the impression that you could just flip the switch of the electric one and make it back to however it was before the cutout was ever installed? that way you wouldn't have to remove it if the sound was too much/you didn't like it? at least thats what i seen in the videos i watched...

am i mistaken and an electric cutout will permanently change the way my car sounds as long as it's on?

cut outs aren't leak proof so it'll act like a small hole in the exhaust when closed but when open it's like no exhaust.

oic... well hopefully it's not bad enough that a cop would notice... my truck had a hole in the muffler and it was loud as heck! but the hole was actually pretty big

with mine all i have to do is put the plate back over it and bolt up 3 bolts.ill tell ya a little story.

when i got my cutout for 30$ i took it and got it installed for 50$.when they were finished the guy started it up and me and my buddy were in the lobby listening and it didnt sound different at all.so i was like wtf.so we got in my car and it didnt sound one bit different and my friend was like dude you just wasted 30 bucks.DAM! so when i got home i was thinking ill take a look at it and i did.i realized that i still had it closed lol.so i took off the three bolts and now it screams.

people are a tad bit wrong when judging cutouts.i was told that i'd loose too much back pressure when im sure i lost some but not enough to make a difference or anything.then i was told that i would be suckin gas.you will burn more gas but its not that much(1-5 mpg).

also when i got my muffler taken off before the cutout i got pulled over for my exhaust alot but its been 4+ months since my cutout and nothin yet.so dude if you get a decent electric one then you wont be able to hear it closed.just go ***** to the wall cause its worth it.

open headers is right off the headers and a cut out is a little bit farther down but dude when you get it put on make sure they put it before the cat.
