i wanna get some power out of my car, i have found kits for it but i would like to know if i can have a turbo in a sohc automatic neon 2001 year. i mean i have my bike for speed and car driving maybe 2 to 3 times a week for a few miles.
any ideas and yes i have found on ebay a full engine and trani srt4 not trying to go that route just yet, other wise ill get a challenger for 23,000 hahaha

 

yes you can install a turbo kit on an auto

Hahn is 3k. with all the setup.

 

ou can bro, your engine can handle some boost, depending how much you wanna push... if you wanna go harcore, i would look into better internal parts....

Ive always been a firm believer of having a manual tranny when it comes to boost, than way you control the RPMs... research some before you make a desicion

be very carefull when putting turbos on an auto.they will eat your trani up if your not carefull.

 

i have an auto with a stage 2 hahn. it does eat your bands up. i recently pulled my engine, pushed it to hard on stock. i pulled my trans pan and there was alot of material in it. i believe though they make a decent valve body and rebuild kit for it. check out howellautomotive.com .

 

lol yea thats not good.ill just say be prepared to have money to spend on the trani when you turbo it.a 5-spd would be better to handle the boost but an auto has constant boost so gl and let me know what you do.

think of it this way, when you got a auto tranny, its all electrical, it is as sensitive as a new born baby, when your engine is pushing more power than that tranny is meant for, it will strip everything in it... but you also gotta think even a 5speed will do the same also if you dont build it... but the thing is, if you have a manual, you control it.... if you have an auto, your car decides what to do... not to mention if you run just a bit low on tranny fluid, it will slip really bad... causeing even more damage... but then again... im stick to the core.. lol
