Question Replacing a motor in a 2000 Neon

Can u replace a motor without a EGR valve with a motor that has a EGR valve?

damn... i accually have no idea about this.. im not really familiar with the egr systems....

I do have a buddy tho that has a late 80s toyota supra that did mention recently that he had bypassed his egr system... so i would imagine yes you could... im pretty sure the egr system just has to do with emissions control... sorry im not much help on this, but ill look around and try to find you some better answers

I believe so. you just have to find a block off plate for it. is the egr in the side of the head on the battery side, kind of behind the cam sensor?

yes u deff can, just make a block off plate for the egr port... bolt it up to where the egr mount to and away u go.... good luck

as puttin my motor back in, i noticed on the 2000 models they still have the same heads, but like all these other guys said, theres a plate bolted up there instead of the tube running from that to your intake i think? but yeah.. its a simple peice of metal, maybe a quarter inch thick thats bolts straight up to it.... still gotta use the gasket behind it too
