RE: Hesitation problems 2001 R/T
I have heard that platinum spark plugs suck *** in our cars, so I would probably stay away from them. Is your R/T the one with active intake manifold? Ex: the one that has secondaries on it, has the butterfly valves that open up at around 4,000rpm? If so, the switch that activates those could be messed up, but probably not since you don't have problems under normal acceleration. Are you using premuim gas? That could be your problem as well if you are not using that octane.

Hmmmmmm....
You would think that if it was a plug, the misfire counter in the PCM would pick it up and switch on the SES light, however...
You said that you recently replaced the plugs?
On my wifes 01' I replaced the plugs, and did not torque them to the proper spec the first time. Now I know that this sounds petty, but it actually caused a plug to fire back through the electrode because it would not ground properly. If the problem started after you installed the plugs, this is a real possibility.

The problem started before i replaced them. The only problem that i had with the car before this is when i would be driving, at about the 10th mile or so, everything would just shut down, no power or anything, come to find out, it was the positive cable that runs from the fuse undor the hood to the battery, So I replced that, then about a week later this starts with the hesitation thing

RE: Hesitation problems 2001 R/T
I am having a somewhat similar problem with my 00 neon, but I would say that it is definitely not your clutch.
I have burned out a clutch before, and you can smell it from a mile away, or you wont be able to shift at all.
Also, I would suggest it isn't the clutch because you never said when it hesitates the RPM's don't climb, cause if the clutch sliped the engine would jump and rev really high as though the clutch was suddenly engaged.
Hope this may help......
Some have suggested to me to replace my plugs, I am going to try it this w/e, and I will post what happens.
