Default Intake Question

I was going to get an AEM short ram air intake, but i went to car-stuff.com to check out, and a short ram air intake isn't an option for a neon, just cold air intake, should i jsut get a cold air intake, or can a short ram intake be put in any car, cuz i wanted to get a short ram over cold air.

Here's a pic of mine... less than 30 bucks off e-bay... have had it probably 2 years now... now it has a K&N filter (pic was from before)... have had no problems winter or summer...only thing about the e-bay ones, doesn't come with any supports for the throttle body, the whole thing from the bellows, thru the throttle body, to the filter just kind of lay on the fender..so I eventually just fashioned my own... goes from the battery tray bolt to the throttle body bolts.
i know people say al it is doing is sucking hot air from the engine compartment, but I don't have any high horsepower engine mods, and I like the sound it makes coupled with a dual exhaust... and like I said no problems and my engine still runs great

short ram FTW you don't have to worry about sucking up water and hydrolocking your motor. I would much rather run the short ram over cold air any day idc if i'll supposibly get more power cuz they can't even prove it on a dyno and even if they can so what 5hp=nothing. The normal person can't tell a difference unless the car is making 50 more hp then before to be noticable.

all my buddies are yelling CAI, and not even worrying about a block for water, that its much better than a short ram, i dunno, i may just go with whats cheaper.

just from my input. you arent doing anything to ur engine from getting a short ram intake because the perpose of an intake on our neons is to shoot cold air into the engine not hot like the short ram does. so anyone for future reference just go with a cold air intake. AEM by the way.
